Summer in Paris already has the feel of a celebration. From Paris Plage to rooftop, café and restaurant terraces, everything encourages you to relax. But if you have the opportunity to stay in Paris on the Fête Nationale, you will discover the city in state of high excitement. Read on as the Hotel Albe Saint-Michel team tells you about July 14th, Bastille Day...
The July 14th tradition
The party generally begins on the evening of July 13th in the fire stations of the capital. They throw open their doors for a popular and good-natured ball to which everyone is welcome. What’s more, your participation will help improve the working conditions of firefighters. Another highlight of the Fête Nationale is the military parade on the Champs-Elysées. On the morning of July 14th, head to the most famous avenue in the world and stand in the dappled shade of the trees to watch the parade of the troops in their impeccable uniforms as they pass in front of the President of the Republic.
Your July 14th
In the evening, you can choose to participate in one of the many popular balls organised all over Paris and its suburbs. You can also attend the great concert event staged each year at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise and the Chœur de Radio-France accompany the biggest international stars. Admission is free and you will be perfectly placed to watch the spectacular fireworks display that takes place over the Champs de Mars at 23:00. A magical experience!
