The year 2023 promises to be an exciting one for outstanding cultural events in Paris. The Hotel Albe Saint-Michel is well located, enabling you not only to discover the Latin Quarter and its cafes and shops, but also to visit the most popular exhibitions of the moment.
Through the ages and styles
Why not start your cultural journey with a visit to the Monnaie de Paris, less than ten minutes’ walk along the side of the Seine from the Hotel Albe Saint-Michel? From March 30th to September 24th, the former national mint is presenting an intriguing exhibition devoted to the complex relationship between money and art. Crossing eras and artistic currents, it invites you to discover the different ways in which wealth, poverty and money in general have been represented in art, from antiquity to the present day. A five-minute walk from the hotel is the Musée de Cluny. This museum focussing on the art of the Middle Ages recently reopened after extensive renovations and the current exhibition is dedicated to new acquisitions, most of which have never been presented to the public.
Impressionism in the spotlight
Several places are devoting exhibitions to the artistic movement known as Impressionism. Head to the Musée du Luxembourg to discover the little-known personality of Léon Monet, brother of the renowned Claude Monet. Active among the most prominent artists of his time, he supported and collected the work of Claude Monet as well as Sisley, Pissarro, Renoir and more. Meanwhile, the Musée d'Orsay remains a must for modern and contemporary art. Continuing a series of exhibitions conceived as a dialogue between two artists, the museum invites us this time to meet Degas and Manet, two personalities with a turbulent relationship.
Take the opportunity to see the most beautiful Parisian exhibitions during your stay at the Hotel Albe Saint-Michel. The programme for this winter and spring 2023 is particularly enticing!
